Hello everyone!
Consider this piece as my effort to return to the writing world.
And this post is special to you NERDS out there. The ones who fall in love in the creative and vast universe of fictional superhero, I present to you 7 Mutants at every KTM station. Except for Seputeh station. That station is a ghost town. Nobody ever embarks or stops there. Like seriously, even when the train is super packed with passengers, nobody ever gets off at Seputeh.
Now back to the original ranting. The 7 Mutants.
Place of Origin : KL Sentral KTM Station
1. Quicksilver. Power and abilities: Super speed.
This is the group of people who would run as fast as they can to embark the train. As soon as the get their tickets scanned, they sped off with a velocity that you never perceive human is capable to do so. And guess where their running track is? The freaking escalator. A sweet place for tired and lazy citizen to be transported all the way to the waiting area. I mean why do you have to run on the escalator? We have stairs, EMPTY STAIRS, for you to run on it with the highest velocity. And when they run on the escalator, these Quicksilvers stop running once they reached the middle of the escalator. I mean, LOL WUT? You ran with super speed just to stop at the middle? And did I mentioned that they are super agile? They can always find some space to run even when the escalator is packed with other normal human.
2. Colossus. Power and abilities: The tin man or aluminium dude you see in all XMEN movies but never given justice or enough action time. He is so strong that he can withstand any pushing force hence the name colossus. He will never fall. That’s how strong he is.
This is the group of people who once they get on the train they will stand right in front of the door. Dude, I understand that you want your exiting process to be eased but please consider the number of people behind you that try to embark as well. And when people try to push Colossus with unintended force with full intention to make him move, he will always prevail. Like how do they do that? No matter how hard you push, stare or make irritating faces, they will never move. Not even an inch. Thus, the gentlemen’s way; you ask politely. Their response? Trying to squeeze themselves in size instead of moving inwards. I hate you Colossus. Seriously I do.
3. Juggernaut. Power and abilities: Once he gained momentum, he cannot be stopped. Although he’s not mutant per se, but he shows up regularly in XMEN so cut me some slack here.
This is a tribute to all the brave, Spartan makciks that have traumatized me every time I see a group of makcik lining up waiting for the train. They will not give you any chance to daydream or simply taking your time to embark the train. With somehow accumulated momentum they will without mercy push you from behind to ensure they will get a place in the train as well. Some of them even shouted, “Masuk dalam woi, mak cik nak balik nak masak kat rumah ni!!!” to justify their merciless pushing. You can die if you stop them, no joke. Chill makciks. We all want to arrive early. Hehe. They may look adorable and some of them are quite jovial, but the Juggernaut inside them will come out once the train arrive.
4. Nightcrawler. Power and abilities: Teleportation
This one is my least favourite. It’s fair to say if I resent them. KTM can be delayed for quite some time hence the queue gets longer by time. We sacrifice the need to sit down, the cooling spinning fan just because we need to queue in order to embark the train. While queuing next time make sure you take a glance at the Nightcrawlers sitting comfortably around you. They seem not interested with the arriving train but once the train stops, suddenly they are standing at the front of the queue. Amazing ability isn’t it?
5. Magneto. Power and abilities: Magnetism
All trains are equipped with steel post inside it for people hold on it. It helps you to balance when the train takes off or brakes suddenly (which is very frequent for KTM). The Magnetos will hog the post all for themselves. Instead of just holding it, they are hugging the post. WHY? Just why… When others try to place their hand, they did not seemed interest in sharing the sacred steel. Way to go Magneto!
6. Shadowcat. Power and abilities: Phasing
Trains can be super cramped especially during peak hours. And as the train is nearing your station, you start to think how you are going to reach the exit door through all the people. And exactly at that moment, a saviour rises. The shadowcat through her amazing ability of phasing will never fail to create a path leading to the door. They can even go pass through the Colossus as well. No matter how deep they are pushed inwards from the door, they can always phase with ease. Rest assured that you can reach the exit door as long as you stay close to the Shadowcats.
7. Banshee. Power and abilities: Sonic scream
It’s obvious isn’t it? Instead of speaking to each other, they communicate by screaming to each other.
I wish these Malaysian mutants never exist.
But again, this is all just my observation while I was stucked waiting for the train. I’m sure you have stumble into few of them.
